Wicca is a belief system which celebrates life and nature. It focuses on the changing cycles of the year, as well as changing cycles of our own life. While our culture promotes development and progress, fast living and constantly pushes us to work more, buy more and have more, Wicca stands for a peaceful and harmonious way of life in which people make an effort to slow down and notice the world around them. During the last 100 years, our focus on “progress” degraded the earth to such an extent, that not only have water, soil and air become toxic, but the over-exploitation of natural resources and release of vast amounts of agricultural chemicals into the environment, had resulted in a global climate change, the consequences of which we are only beginning to experience.
