Description

Sam Mercer is a longtime Nevada podcaster and photographer who has spent decades recording the stories of artists, musicians, poets, and dreamers across the American West. Since the death of his wife Helen, however, he has slowly drifted into a life spent documenting moments instead of fully living inside them.
Everything changes after an interview with visiting art historian Elise Moreau. That night Sam experiences an impossibly vivid dream in which he finds himself walking rain-soaked streets in nineteenth-century Paris, entering a small café filled with struggling young painters — artists who will one day become the Impressionists. There, among arguments about light, beauty, and emotion, Sam encounters figures like Monet, Renoir, Degas, and Berthe Morisot before history recognizes them.
