The goal of our newsletter is to share with our growing audience updates about us, our fellow booksellers and bookstores, and overall community. You may even learn something new!
A Message from Our Owner
“Welcome to Mad Red Books and the World of Rare Books! As we approach our grand opening on July 4th, 2025, I first and foremost would like to express my gratitude to all who’ve helped make this pipedream come true. To those who have donated books to our cause, my sincerest gratitude goes out to you, as without books to line our shelves we’d have an empty store with some very interesting personalities moving blindly about.
To my team, this dream would not be possible without your tireless efforts and dedication. I’ve watched us grow from a few people sitting around desks working into a single organism moving towards an obtainable goal, and our grand opening will solidify our position in the book industry here in Las Vegas, NV.
We’ve worked diligently to create an open space, a community feel, an identity that sets us apart from the rest. Yes, we will be selling books, both used and new, as well as rare and antiquarian books. But we’re more than that here. We’re family, and as we’ve grown together, we look forward to growing with the community around us.
Thank you all for joining us on our journey to open a bookstore here in our hometown of Las Vegas, and we look forward to serving you and our community in the years to come!”

Who We Are; Who We Want to Be
One of the most frequently asked questions a small business receives is “who are you?”
We’ll be honest, at first, we were apprehensive to provide an answer. Identity can be a tricky subject. The question feels large and looming. However, after a few months in operation, we’ve come to a conclusion.
Mad Red Books is a bookstore by and for the community. Community is for everyone. Mad Red Books is for everyone. No matter your interests, no matter your age, we strive to have the book and service for you. Our identity is you and us, together.
What We Offer
Our inventory is rapidly growing with a variety of used, new, and rare books, as well as unique gift items by local vendors. Here is a small sneak peek at what we’ll have in the store!
A Blast from the Past
As a bookstore dealing in rare books, this is our moment to shine a light on our special collections. This month, we are pulling from an item in our owner’s personal library.
From The Massachusetts Magazine published in July of 1790, we present Ode, inscribed to Mrs. Warren.
Amid the splendour of that fame
Immortal genius rais’d,
With all the love thy virtues claim,
Virtues by envy prais’d,
The leaft of bright Apollo’s choir
Awakes the willing lyre;
And at thy feet the grateful tribute pays,
Due to thy matchless worth, thy fame-embellish’d lays
Tho o’er Columbia’s plain,
Fair science smild’d;
And many muse-enraptur’d swain,
Lent musick to the wild;
No fair one by Minerva led,
Approach’d Pieria’s spring,
Or dar’d the flow’ry paths to tread,
Or tune the golden string.
But timid genius from herself retires,
Conceals her darting rays, and damps her kindling fires.
Till bursting thro’ the veil of night,
Bright as the floating beams of light,
Thy glowing strains appear;
To lead the envied way is thine—
Since only distant praise is mine,
Ah! deign that praise to hear.
While o’er Parnassian heights thy muse ascends,
Low in the vale my humble genius bends.
Not that round thy hallow’d brow,
Fairest wreaths of laurel flow;
That the graces of the Nine,
Every power of song is thine;
That Minerva leads the way;
And thy ready steps obey:
Not from these, alone, I raise
All thy glory, all thy praise;
Tho to genius much is due,
Bright plaudits shine on you:
The heart, that melts at every woe,

The mind, that feels the’ enraptured glow,
Whene’er another blest;
That o’er dejected virture’s sigh,
Can pour the balm of care,
And from the magick of the eye,
