 Hello, April!The weather can’t seem to make its mind up here in the Las Vegas Valley. One day it’s almost 100 degrees, the next it’s a brisk Spring 65 degrees. But we’ll take the occasional bout of nice weather before summer ushers us into the dry scorching heat. Other than that, it’s looking to be busy month here at Mad Red Books and we’re looking forward to it. April Selections There’s a lot of observances this month; Earth Day and Independent Bookstore Day being two of the bigger ones. We’ll be highlighting books relevant to those coming holidays.  A collection of nature-related books for Earth Day!  A sturdy stack of independent authors for the upcoming Independent Bookstore Day.  A preview of some new books that will be out on the shelf this April. Art of the Month  This month we’re highlighting one of our new artists, Trey! This is a collection of his pieces available for sale in our store. His style is quite unique, and he does some great work!Upcoming Events Our neighbors over at Taco y Taco will be hosting an Art Show for artist THEO from 1pm-6pm on April 11th. Mad Red Books will be there in a show of support!  Join us on Saturday, April 18th for our ‘Fit-It-in-a-Tote’ Sale! If you purchase (or already own) our Mad Red Books tote bag, receive 10% off any items you can fit in your tote! This sale will be all day, and ONLY on April 18th.  Join us April 22nd for a special in-store Acoustic Performance by John Wayne Comunale of the punk rock band, johnwayneisdead! Event starts at 5:30pm and will be on until we close at 7pm. Join us as we welcome Danielle Elaine, Silent H., and Morgan St. James for our local author signing and meet-and-greet event on Saturday, April 28th from 1-4PM. What We’re Reading      Word of the Month  Let’s see what our 1685 Dictionary brings us this month. April’s Word:Unganand, g. ungainly, foolish.
